AIPE was launched by The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) in 2002
in order to provide young scholars from Asia and the United
States with a rich experience gained by both academic
and cross-cultural exchange. Hong Kong is the perfect
backdrop for such an academic undertaking because of its
ideal location as an international center or finance and
trade, and as a hub for vibrant cultural interaction.
Hong Kong offers a unique window of opportunity for international
and multicultural learning experiences.
The Institute
is intended for the serious and energetic students who
are willing to be challenged by stimulating ideas and
cultural exchange. Students from a wide range of nationalities
have an opportunity to interact, learn and share their
experiences in ways that benefit their educational and
professional development.
Students will leave the Institute as members of a growing
network of alumni of The Fund for American Studies living
throughout the world. The Fund for American Studies
has educated over 8,000 students since its conception
in 1967 and its alumni form a significant network of
young leaders and professionals in academia, journalism,
business, and government.
