ADMISSIONSAdmissions Policies
All students must apply using the Online Application
form on the Internet website at www.tfasinternational.org. Other required application materials
must be sent by post or fax to The Fund for American Studies, and arrive no later
than the Admissions Deadline. The website contains regularly updated information
about the Institute.
The
program costs are $3,500 USD per student. Generous scholarship
supporters of The Fund for American Studies underwrite the amount not paid by
students. Students may apply for scholarships which will be awarded on both a merit and need basis. Students provide their own travel costs and other personal expenses.
Students are encouraged to explore funding opportunities available through non-government
organizations and government sources to assist in their payment of fees and
travel expenses.
Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis - applications are reviewed
as they are received. The application process is competitive, and students are
encouraged to apply early.
Students admitted to the program are expected to participate fully, which means
attending all classes and lectures as well as spending time getting to know
students from other countries. Individuals not enrolled in the program may not
attend Institute events or stay in accommodations assigned by The Fund for American
Studies. The Institute discourages long-distance travel and visits by friends
or relatives during the program. As the Institute schedule is intense, the program
will occupy all of the participants' time.
Admissions decisions are based upon academic record, extracurricular achievements,
leadership qualities, work experience, and English language ability.
