Transportation From the Airport to the Hotel

When arriving at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, which is situated outside Athens (33 km), you will have the option to use either the metro, public bus, suburban railway or a taxi to get to Acropol Hotel in the centre of Athens.

Metro

The Airport has been made accessible via Metro Line 3 (blue): “ Athens International Airport – Egaleo”. Using this line from the Athens International Airport metro station, change at Syntagma to Metro Line 2 (red): “Agios Dimitrios – Agios Antonios” in the direction of Agios Antonios. You will pass the metro station Panepistimio and you will get off at Omonia metro station. Exit the station using the Pireos/Ag. Konstantinou exit and turn left. The Acropol Hotel is situated in this square (Omonia square), the address is: 1 Pireos Street, Omonia square and it is on the right side of Goodys and KFC.

The metro service from the airport to the city center runs approximately every 30 minutes until 08:05 PM. The journey time from Athens International Airport to Syntagma is approximately 35 – 40 minutes, and from Syntagma to Omonia approximately 5 minutes. Metro ticket fares to and from the airport are listed below:

Single fare €6

Return ticket (within 48 hours) €10

Single fare for 2 persons (flat ticket) €10

Single fare for 3 persons (flat ticket) €10

*Do not forget to VALIDATE your ticket at one of the small validation machines in the metro stations BEFORE taking the metro.

Bus

There are two express busses which will take you from the airport to the center of Athens, X94 and X95. These can be used in combination with the Athens metro system to reach the hotel.

Bus line X94 connects from the Airport to the Ethniki Amyna metro station on Metro Line 3 (blue), from which regular metro services run every 5 to 10 minutes to Egaleo terminal station, until approximately midnight. Using this line, change at Syntagma to Metro Line 2 (red): “Agios Dimitrios – Agios Antonios” in the direction of Agios Antonios. You will pass the metro station Panepistimio and you will get off at Omonia metro station. Leave the metro station via the exit Pireos/Ag. Konstantinou and turn left. The Acropol Hotel is situated on this square (Omonia square), its address is: 1 Pireos Street, Omonia square and it is on the right side of Goodys and KFC.

It takes bus line X94 approximately 20 minutes to get from the airport to Ethniki Amyna metro station. Please note that the X94 operates till approximately 9:30 PM. The metro ride from Ethniki Amyna to Syntagma takes approximately 10 minutes and the ride from Syntagma to Omonia takes an extra 5 minutes.

Bus line X95 connects from the Airport to Syntagma Square and its metro station in central Athens. At Syntagma metro station, take Metro Line 2 (red): “Agios Dimitrios – Agios Antonios” in the direction of Agios Antonios. You will pass the metro station Panepistimio and you will get off at Omonia metro station. Leave the metro station via the exit Pireos/Ag. Konstantinou and turn left. The Acropol Hotel is situated on this square (Omonia square), its address is: 1 Pireos Street, Omonia square and it is on the right side of Goodys and KFC.

It takes bus line X95 approximately 30 minutes to get from the airport to Syntagma Square. The metro ride from Syntagma to Omonia takes approximately 5 minutes and runs until approximately midnight.

Tickets for express buses X94 and X95 cost €3,20 Euros and are valid for both for the express bus and the metro part of your journey, as long as this takes no longer than 90 minutes. They can be obtained from the bus driver or the ticket booth at the bus stop next to the airport.

*Do not forget to VALIDATE your ticket at one of the small validation machines in the bus.

Suburban railway

The airport is also connected to the city center by means of the Suburban Rail. From Athens International Airport (terminal station), the railway service will pass the train stations Koropi, Kantza, Pallini, Doukissis Plakentias (connection with Metro Line 3 (blue)), Kifisias, Nerantziotissa (connection with Metro Line 1 (green)) and Iraklio before arriving at Laríssis Station, the central railway station of Athens.

The railway service from the airport to Larissis Station runs every 30 minutes, and takes approximately 35 to 40 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the railway station and cost €6 Euros. They are valid for both the train and the metro part of your journey, as long as this takes no longer than 90 minutes.

From the metro station at Laríssis Station, you take Metro Line 2 (red) in the direction of Agios Dimitrios. You will pass the metro station Metaxourghio and get off at Omonia station. Leave the metro station via the exit Pireos/Ag. Konstantinou and turn left. The Acropol Hotel is situated on this square (Omonia square), the address is: 1 Pireos Street, Omonia square and it is on the right side of Goodys and KFC. The metro journey from Laríssis Station to Omonia takes approximately 5 minutes and runs until approximately midnight.

 Taxi

Taxis are available on a 24-hour basis. When leaving the airport, please make use of the taxi queue next to Door 3 of the Arrivals Level. The approximate cost of a taxi ride from the airport to downtown Athens is 20 Euros (though this should be confirmed with the taxi driver). Please note that there are also extra charges for luggage, and the taxi fare doubles after midnight (Tariff 2, from 0:00 till 5:00 AM).

Transportation From the Train Station to the Hotel

International trains arrive at Laríssis Station in the northwest of the city center; the virtually adjacent Peloponnissou station handles traffic to and from the Peloponnese. Just outside the train station there is a Metro Station. From the metro station at Laríssis Station, you take Metro Line 2 (red) in the direction of Agios Dimitrios. You will pass the metro station Metaxourghio and get off at Omonia station. Leave the metro station via the exit Pireos/Ag. Konstantinou and turn left. The Acropol Hotel is situated on this square (Omonia square), the address is: 1 Pireos Street, Omonia square and it is on the right side of Goodys and KFC. The metro journey from Laríssis Station to Omonia takes approximately 5 minutes and runs until approximately midnight.

Transportation from the Bus Station to the Hotel

If you are coming into Athens by bus from northern Greece, you will find yourself at Kifissoú 100, just a ten-minute ride from the city centre by bus #051, which runs till approximately midnight. Getting off at the terminal stop Omonia. The Acropol Hotel is situated on the Omonia Square and the address is 1 Pireos Street , Omonia square and it is on the right side of Goodys and KFC . Routes into the city from central Greece arrive rather closer to the centre at Liossíon 260, north of the train stations; from here you take the blue city bus #024 to Syntagma . Most international buses will take you to the train station or to Kifissoú 100; a few drop passengers right in the city centre.
