ABOUTHistory
The ILA program began in 2008, and was opened by the former Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar, along with Chile's new President, Sebastian Pinera. President Pinera's brother, Jose Pinera, the architect of Chile’s highly successful personal pension system, has spoken the last three years at ILA. Clemson University Professor Brad Thompson has taught political philosophy for the last two years. The first professor of economics in the ILA program was Dr. Rolf Luders, one of the most prominent economists in Latin America, who recounted the implementation of the economic model that remains in place today and fuels the ever-growing Chilean economy.
