October 16 – Note from UANDES + Other details

Hello all,

Our partners at Universidad de los Andes created this PDF for you to help explain the Chilean government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with specific attention to the phases of opening. I hope you will find it useful to know the past and present measures being taken for preventing the further spread of the virus as well as how these measures will progress with decreased risk of transmission.

While the country’s borders remain closed to foreigners as of Friday morning, October 16, we’re hopeful that the government will release a plan for opening by the end of this month, with details specified regarding quarantine measures for incoming travelers. As you can imagine, this information will be important for TFAS and UANDES to determine whether or not TFAS Santiago can take place safely in person as scheduled this January. We will follow up with you in the first week of November to provide further guidance.

Best regards,
